Welcome to
Greater Columbus Oral Surgery & Dental Implants
We’re glad you’re here. Your first visit is about more than gathering information — it’s the beginning of an experience built around you. Come in with your questions, your concerns, and your goals. We’re ready to listen.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
From the moment you arrive, our team is focused on making you feel welcome and at ease. Here’s a general sense of how your first visit unfolds:
- A warm greeting from our front desk team, who will confirm your details and get you settled
- A review of your medical and dental history so your surgeon has a complete picture of your health
- A thorough oral evaluation, including your teeth, gums, jaw, and surrounding structures
- Diagnostic imaging — such as a 3D CBCT scan or X-rays — if needed to plan your care accurately
By the end of your appointment, you’ll have a clear understanding of what’s going on and what your options are.
Your Comfort and Safety Come First
We use leading-edge technology not just because it produces better results, but because it makes the experience better for you, too. Our 3D CBCT imaging and intraoral scanning allow us to plan with a level of precision that reduces guesswork and supports a smoother procedure.
If you’re feeling anxious about an upcoming treatment, please let us know. We offer multiple sedation options to steward your comfort and take every concern seriously. Our team creates an environment where speaking up is always welcomed — and your welbeing is always the priority.
The Greater Columbus Difference
Oral surgery means something different to every patient who walks through our doors. For some it’s relief from pain. For others it’s the start of a smile transformation years in the making. Whatever brought you here, your treatment plan will be tailored specifically to your needs — not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Before you leave your first appointment, your surgeon will walk you through their findings, explain your options clearly, and give you the space to ask anything on your mind. You’ll never feel rushed toward a decision.
What to Bring to Your First Visit
A little preparation goes a long way. Please plan to bring:
- A valid photo ID and your dental insurance card
- A list of current medications and any known allergies
- Any recent X-rays or imaging from your dentist, if available
Completing your patient portal paperwork before you arrive is the easiest way to make check-in smooth and keep your appointment focused on care.
We’re With You Beyond the First Visit
Your care doesn’t end when your appointment does. After your visit, our team will follow up as needed, provide pre-operative guidance if a procedure is planned, and make sure you feel supported every step of the way.
Getting to a healthier, more confident smile is a journey — and we’re committed to being a reliable presence throughout it.
Common Questions About Your First Visit
Not always. Many patients come to us through a referral from their dentist, but you’re welcome to reach out directly as well. If you have a concern or a procedure in mind, a consultation is the right place to start — referral or not.
Most initial consultations last between 45 minutes and an hour. That time includes your health history review, examination, any imaging needed, and a thorough conversation about your options. We include enough time into every first visit so nothing feels hurried.
Don’t worry, it’s more common than you might think. Let us know how you’re feeling when you call or arrive — our team will adjust the pace, answer every question you have, and talk through treatment sedation options if that would help. You’re in good hands here.
